Opal Capital of Australia

Adelaide is known for having the best prised opals both nationally and internationally, hence the reputation of being the Opal Capital of Australia. Glenelg was my favourite destination while visiting as it had your classic beach town atmosphere. I very quickly developed a morning routine of a morning jog along the beach, zip back home for a shower, then a walk to the local coffee shop and find a spot to sit and enjoy some peace and quiet with an ocean view. Visiting the Hahndorf town is an absolute must! It is Australia's oldest surviving German settlement, built by Prussian settlers 1839. A walk along this little town will transport you into a different place and make you feel as though your in a German village. Another place I recommend you try out is the Adelaide Central Market, which is a major fresh produce market and is one of the oldest markets in Australia. It has a large range of fresh food including fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, cheeses, baked goods, small goods and health goods. The Adelaide Himjei Garden is a great place to sit in a quiet place relax and enjoy natures beauty or take aesthetic pictures for Instagram, this is a traditionally-styled Japanese garden which was a gift from Adelaide's sister city Himjei in 1982.
